Browse a wide selection of new and used SCATTRAK Skid Steers for sale near . I came across what seems to be a pretty good deal on a Scat Trak Skid Steer and I'm not to familiar with their reputation. The machine is a 1996 1300C. I do know that they were bought out by volvo in 2001 I believe. But as far as their durability and reliableness and general reputation, I have no idea. Keep in mind my uses are light. One oddball machine, a Scat Trak loader that a friend purchased for around 4,000.00 got him started in business and despite looking beat up was in good mechanical condition and still runs to this day! Eventually he purchased newer Bobcats and the business grew but still owns that Scat Trak and his son uses it around the farm.
I find it funny a company looking to bolster skid steer market share would pick of all companies to work with JCB. Alomst seems like giving in and deciding that if they are going to have a small market share to minimize costs for this . went by the dealer today and checked out their skid steers. i was curious how well the pilot controls worked. i've been reading the threads about everyones concerns with the bobcat skid steers controls. i was very impressed with the volvo. the unit i ran was th MC70b. set the throttle and was very easy to control. the only thing that kind of messed me up is backing up . I remember running a rental Scat Trak excavator a few years back. Each joystick simply rocked on 4 electric switches. It was horribly inaccurate and you had absolutely no feel in the sticks. Thats probably why Scat Trak is out of business now The new K series D6 from CAT is a work horse, I was really impressed with the balde shake. I had the chance to run a JD 700J, but not much can be said about it compared to the CAT, CAT is American made whereas the JD is a re-painted Liebherr, but German quality was damn fine though.
That suspension seat looks very similiar to the seat in my New Holland skid of the same vintage. Had to replace the seat switch a couple years back. Glad I didn't have to tilt the cab to do it. You may want to replace the seat at thesame time and with some searching you can find aftermarket replacement seats for around 0. I like a 16 or 18' trailer for my skid . I also like a bumper pull because you can still load the bed of the truck . The trailer i use now is a 12000lb Ringo 16' drop axel with 5' drop down ramps . I would like to pull my skid and mine X on one trailer but i . That truck saw crazy abuse and put food on the table for years. However it would have to be a smaller skid steer and a light trailer for me to regularly haul with a 1/2ton. I see guys who haul pretty heavy antique tractors around here with trucks and trailers that make ya cringe :hammerhead: But they also go about 30mph tops too..
I'm trying to get on a skid steer, but until then, I'll have to stick with being a numbers-person (which really doesn't mean much anyhow). Dodge's point is a good one. Digging garages may necessitate a smaller machine; I know Bobcat offers an "inset wheel rim" option on their machines, and I am sure Cat does as well -- just with a different name.
